Franziska Koch (born July 13, 2000 in Mettmann ) is a German racing cyclist .

Athletic career

Franziska Koch comes from a cycling family. Her grandfather and his two brothers were already active as cyclists in the 1960s; her brother is the former cyclist Michel Koch .

Koch is an all-rounder. In 2016 she became the German vice-champion of the junior women in the Omnium on the track . At the 2017 track championships , she was on the podium three times in various disciplines, and in the women's omnium she won the title. In the same year she became junior champion in cross country (XC) on mountain bikes and third in the national junior road championship. At the 2017 UCI Road World Championships in Bergen , Norway , she finished 25th in the junior women's race.

In 2019, Koch finished seventh at the Omloop van Borsele , she won the junior category at the Elsy Jacobs Festival and came second at the Volta Limburg Classic . At the German championships , she finished fourth in the women's road race.

On August 1, 2019, Franziska Koch received a contract with Team Sunweb .
