Frauke Katharina Wedemann

Frauke Katharina Wedemann (* 1977 in Munich ) is a German lawyer .

Life

She studied law (1996–2002) in Münster , Oxford and Munich, receiving a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation , and graduated with the first state examination in 2002 in Munich. From 2002 to 2003 she was a research assistant at the Institute for International Law - Comparative Law at the University of Munich ( Andreas Heldrich , Horst Eidenmüller ). After the second state examination in 2004 in Munich, she was a notary assessor in the Bavarian notary service from 2005 to 2009 . From 2006 to 2008 she was a consultant at the Federal Ministry of Justice, in the departments for company law and corporate governance (2006–2008), maintenance law (2006/2007), property and land register law (2007/2008). After completing her doctorate in 2005 at the University of Munich , she was a PhD scholarship holder of the program to promote equal opportunities for women in research and teaching at the University of Munich. From 2009 to 2012 she was a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law ( Holger Fleischer ). After completing her habilitation in 2012 at the Bucerius Law School , she has been teaching since 2012 as holder of the chair for civil law, German, European and international commercial and corporate law at the University of Münster . In 2012 she received professorships (W3) at the Universities of Münster, Erlangen - Nuremberg and Marburg . In 2012 she represented the chair at the University of Marburg . In 2014 she taught as a visiting professor at the University of Vienna . In 2015 she was a visiting scholar at Stanford University's Law School .

Her main research interests are German and European commercial and company law, comparative law, international private law, and the challenges of demographic aging for law.
