Many of Wilken's textile sculptures appear organic, reminiscent of abstract bodies and body fragments. They appear puzzling and mostly uncomfortable, at the same time hard and soft, lifeless and lively, secure and trapped, powerful and fragile. Some of her installation works also seem playful and ironic. The artist works with a wide variety of fabrics, sews and collages.
