Fred the Godson

Fred the Godson (born February 22, 1985 in New York City ; † April 23, 2020 there ; real name Fredrick Thomas ) was an American rapper .

He grew up in the South Bronx and was involved in the New York hip-hop scene. He worked with Jadakiss , The Game , Kevin Gates , French Montana , Pusha T and Diggy Simmons . Together with Jadakiss ("Toast to hat") and Pusha T ("Doves Fly") he became known in the USA. In 2020 he released two albums with “Training Day” and “Payback”.

On April 6, 2020, he was admitted to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He died on April 23, 2020 at the age of 35 during the COVID-19 pandemic in New York City as a result of a SARS-CoV-2 infection at Montefiore Medical Center.

Fred the Godson was married to LeeAnn Jemmott; there are two daughters from the marriage.
