Fredrik Jacobson (born September 26, 1974 in Molndal ) is a Swedish professional golfer of the North American PGA TOUR .
He became a professional golfer in 1994 and played the 1995 season on the European Tour , where he was initially unable to assert himself. From 1997 Jacobson established himself in the first-class European tournament series, but had to let 160 events pass before he won the 2003 Hong Kong Open for the first time. In the same season, two more successes followed, one of which was the highly endowed and prestigious Volvo Masters . He finished the year with fourth place in the European Tour Order of Merit (best result of a Swede together with Anders Forsbrand , 1992) and was the first Swede to win three titles in one season. The following year Jacobson joined the US PGA TOUR , where he has been keeping up since then and celebrating his first tournament victory on June 26, 2011 at the Travelers Championship with a total of only one bogey played on 72 holes.
He played in the continental European team in the 2003 Seve Trophy and was the team best with 4½ out of five possible points. Jacobson missed participation in the Ryder Cup 2004 when he was relegated to one place in the relevant rankings ( Order of Merit and World Golf Rankings ).
Fredrik Jacobson has been married to his wife Erika since 2003. The two have a daughter and live in Monaco .
