Fredrik Lundgren (born October 26, 1979 ) is a Swedish football player . The midfielder has played almost his entire career at GAIS and has played over 200 competitive games for the club.

Career

Lundgren started playing football at Torslanda IK . As a young player, he moved to GAIS in 1999 in the second-class Division 1 . In his first season he was used seven times and reached the runner-up in the southern season with his club. In the subsequent relegation games, they were promoted to the Allsvenskan with a 2-1 win and a 1-1 draw against Kalmar FF . Here he was used more often, but at the end of the season the club had to be relegated directly from the bottom of the table. In the Superettan he finally prevailed as a regular player, but the crash into the third division followed. Here, too, he was part of the permanent staff before he went to Spain for half a year to play for the Madrid amateur club Sant Ignazius de Loyola .

In 2003, Lundgren returned to GAIS and contributed in five games to the fact that the club was able to earn the relegation place to promotion to Superettan before Ljungskile SK as champions of Division 2 Västra Götaland and returned to the second division after two wins over Mjällby AIF . In the following years he was again a regular player and in 2005 contributed five goals this season to promotion to the Allsvenskan. In the first division, too, the midfielder , who has meanwhile been promoted to team captain , is one of the regulars who helped the club to place in the lower midfield of the table. Therefore, in May 2008, he extended his contract for three seasons. He then continued to be a regular before an injury briefly slowed him down in autumn 2010, so that he only played 18 season games in the 2010 season.
