Freezing ( Japanese フ リ ー ジ ン グ , Furījingu ) is a Manhwa written by the two Korean Manhwa authors Dall-Young Lim and Kim Kwang Hyun . Since 2006, the still-continuing Manhwa has been featured in the male-oriented magazine Comic Valkyrie . It tells the story of the boy Kazuya Aoi, who tries to build a relationship with Bridgette L. Satellizer and overcome her fear of contact , while she is supposed to protect the earth from the attacks of the Nova, an enemy from another dimension, as a so-called Pandora . He also becomes her limiter , which allows Bridgette to attack the otherwise invulnerable creatures.

In 2011, Freezing was adapted by ACGT , directed by Takashi Watanabe, as an anime television series of the same name , which was continued in 2013.

action

In a slightly futuristic world, the earth is attacked by beings from another dimension, but they are invulnerable in normal ways and are referred to as nova . As a countermeasure, the Pandoras were created. These are genetically modified women who have exceptional fighting power and can regenerate themselves to a large extent. Your counterpart are the so-called limiters , who are always male and work with the Pandoras in a team. The limiters are able to freeze the nova , from which the title of the work is derived. As a result, the enemies are restricted in their freedom of movement and can be attacked by the Pandoras. However, the Nova are not defenseless even in this state and serious incidents occur again and again.

The nova’s last attack was four years ago at the beginning of the actual plot and the student Kazuya Aoi ( ア オ イ カ ズ ヤ , Aoi Kazuya ) is currently being admitted to a school where both pandodras and limiters are trained. He is followed with particular interest from the start, as his older sister won the decisive battle in the last war against the Nova, in which she selflessly sacrificed herself. At the same time, she is considered the strongest Pandora to date and is accordingly honored. Bridgette L. Satellizer ( サ テ ラ イ ザ ー ・ エ ル ・ ブ リ ジ ッ ト , Sateraizā Eru Burijitto ), who is known for her enormous fighting power and skill, is regarded as her successor . For example, when Kazuya enters, a parallel competition takes place in which the Pandora duel each other and it is expected that Bridgette will not even be touched by another Pandora while they knock down one after the other. This expectation is fulfilled until the moment when she leaves the arena in a duel with Ganessa Roland ( ガ ネ ッ サ = ロ ー ラ ン ド ) and Kazuya pounces on her because he confuses her with his dead sister. Bridgette, who suffers from fear of contact , is so shocked that she loses the fight because of the distraction.
