The 1995 European Free Match Championship was the 26th tournament in this discipline of carom billiards and took place from April 19 to 23, 1995 in Vienna . It was the second free game European championship in Austria.
history
Martin Horn confidently defended his European Championship title in Vienna. It was tighter among those placed. The runner-up Stephan Horvath needed three extensions to eliminate Fonsy Grethen in the quarterfinals. Third place went to the Belgian Philippe Deraes. The Dutchman Piet Adrichem achieved the best general average (GD) with a strong 250.20.
Tournament mode
Two qualifying rounds were played in which the best eight players could qualify for the main tournament. The game distance was 250 points. Eight seeded players were added to the main tournament. Here four groups were formed of four players each. The two best players from each group qualified for the knockout round. The game distance was 400 points. In the event of a tie in the knockout round, the game was extended to 40 points. If the extension ended in a draw, there was a second extension. If this tie also ended, a recording to 40 points was played. Whoever scored the most points won. That up to the decision.
In the event of an MP tie in the final table, the following order was taken:
- MP = match points
- GD = general average
- HS = maximum series
