The Free List ( FL ) is a party in the Principality of Liechtenstein . It was founded in 1985 and is characterized by «social, democratic and ecological».

Positions

According to the party program , its central themes are equality between men and women , social justice and solidarity , environmental protection , transport policy and the integration of foreigners. She advocates the introduction of a representative monarchy in the principality. You are also critical of the Liechtenstein state church, the Archdiocese of Vaduz and Archbishop Wolfgang Haas , because of its conservative attitude.

You ran for the first time in the state elections in 1986. In this election, and also in the 1989 election, they could not exceed the threshold clause.

In 1993 it overcame the eight percent threshold in the state elections with over 10% for the first time and was able to consolidate itself in the early election in the same year with 8.5%, although this has remained the worst result since then. Increased to over 11% in 1997 and dropped again somewhat in 2001, the list reached a record level of 13.3% of the votes in the 2005 election and thus won three of a total of 25 seats. In the state elections in 2009 , it fell to 8.9 percent and could only win one seat. In the 2013 election , their share rose to over 11 percent, which in turn earned the party three seats. In the state elections on February 5, 2017 , the Free List gained 1.5%, but this did not change the number of seats.

Local politics

Since the municipal elections in 2019, the FL has been represented in seven out of eleven municipal councils. The Free List does not provide a community leader .
