The Freiger See (also Freilersee ) is a lake in a high valley of the Stubai Alps at an altitude of 2494 m above sea level. A. almost 800 meters north of the border with Italian South Tyrol .
The name comes from the Wild and Aperen Freiger .
The catchment area of the Freiger See includes the area north between Hoher Wand and Rotem Grat , where u. a. the Grüblferner lies. It drains over the Langentalbach in Vallunga into the Stubai Valley .
The lake can be reached from Austria via the Nürnberger Hütte .
