Freimund Edlich

Freimund Leberecht Gottwald Edlich (born December 15, 1836 in Miltitz , † April 7, 1891 in Dresden ) was a German landscape painter , photographer and botanist .

Life

Freimund Edlich worked as a scientific painter, landscape painter and photographer in Dresden from around 1860 to 1891. In addition, he dealt with botany. Edlich lived in Dresden (Dippoldiswaldaer Gasse 9) and in 1860 was the head of Ferdinand Hecker's photographic studio. From 1863 to 1891 he had several of his own studios in Dresden.

In 1868 he became a member of the natural science society "Isis" in Dresden. On January 1, 1869 he was elected member ( matriculation no. 2095 ) of the Leopoldina with the academic surname F. Kaulfuss in the botany section .

Some of his photographs are now in the possession of the Dresden Kupferstichkabinett .
