The Frese Pond is a pond in the Berlin district of Marienfelde ( Tempelhof-Schöneberg ). Today the pond forms the northern end of the royal moat . This drainage ditch was created in 1777 by order of the Prussian King Friedrich II to drain the Marienfelder Feldmark and served there as a receiving water . It originally ran through Lankwitz to the Bäke , but was never able to completely take over the intended drainage function. After Lichtenrades was flooded several times in 1926 and 1927, an 11-kilometer-long drainage canal was built west of the Lankwitz harbor , which flows into the Teltow Canal .
