Friande is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Friande belongs to the Póvoa de Lanhoso district in the Braga district . The community had an area of 5 km² and 242 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013 the parishes of Friande, Ajude and Verim were merged to form the new parish União das Freguesias de Verim, Friande e Ajude .
