Fridolin Meinl

Fridolin Meinl (* 1982 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor .

Life

Fridolin Meinl was born in Vienna as the fourth of five children. He grew up in Vienna, where he also graduated from high school . Meinl, who originally wanted to become an orchestral musician, is a trained cellist . At the age of six he started playing the cello. He completed his acting studies, which he completed with a diploma, from 2003 to 2007 at the University of Music and Theater in Rostock .

During his training he had engagements at the Staatstheater Schwerin (2004, as Lysander in A Midsummer Night's Dream ), at the Volkstheater Rostock (2005, as a pupil Ackermann in Die Feuerzangenbowle , directed by Matthias Brenner ) and at Kampnagel at the Hamburg Theater Academy (2006/07, as "Crashed Student" Freder in Illness of Youth ).

From 2007 until the end of the 2008/09 season he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater Görlitz-Zittau , where he played various roles in classical and modern theater, took part in children's and youth theater and appeared in the annual Christmas productions. His stage roles there included u. a. Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet , the roles of Kater Abdullah / Sultan in Der kleine Muck , the sadistic dentist Orin Scrivello in Der kleine Horrorladen , the artilleryman Andreas Kragler in Drums in der Nacht , Christian de Neuvilette in Cyrano de Bergerac , the Squire Trewlaney in Die Treasure Island and Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream . In the 2010/11 season he was still engaged as a guest at the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater Görlitz-Zittau and took over the court marshal von Kalb in Kabale und Liebe , the lion in Der Zauberer von Oz and the drum major in Woyzeck .

In 2013 he performed at the Viennese cultural center "Brick 5" in the one-act play Der Kontrabaß by Patrick Süskind . In January 2014 Meinl gave a guest performance with Der Kontrabaß at the Görlitz Theater . With this piece Meinl has since performed repeatedly at various venues in Germany and Austria. In the 2014/15 season Meinl was a guest at the Vogtlandtheater Plauen in the dance piece Yesterday .

Meinl also worked for cinema, film and television. Meinl had a supporting role as the young Hans Jonas in Margarethe von Trotta's biographical feature film Hannah Arendt (2012) . In March 2015 he was seen on Austrian television in the Austrian television series SOKO Donau in a leading role as barkeeper Alex Holzmann; he played the suspected fiancé of a young Serbian woman who was murdered in a letter bomb attack .

Meinl also worked as a moderator for the Internet television station "Klassik.TV". He lives in Vienna and Berlin .
