from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Friedbert Syhre (born October 15, 1938 ; † June 12, 2008 ) was a German master craftsman and instrument maker and has been known in the GDR for replicas of historical instruments since the 1960s .

In particular, in 1984 - together with his son Frank Syhre - he was one of the first to build a so-called Reiche horn for the well-known trumpet virtuoso Ludwig Güttler, based on the model of the Haussmann portrait of the Leipzig city piper Gottfried Reiche . In addition to many other historical ones, he restored the eight Dresden court trumpets made of silver in 1753, which sounded for the first time at the opening of the Heinrich Schütz Festival in Dresden in 1985, as they did in electoral times.
