Friedel Geratsch (* thirtieth September 1951 as Friedrich Ernst Geratsch ) is a German musician . He is the founder and singer of the NDW band Geier Sturzflug .

life and work

Before joining Geier Sturzflug, Friedel Geratsch was on the road as the “Dicke Lippe” duo with his colleague Reinhard Baierle . The song Gross National Product comes from this time . His greatest successes with Geier Surzflug he had with the singles Gross National Product (1983), Visit Europe (1983), Pure Lust am Leben (1984) and Loneliness (1984). In 1985 he worked on the benefit single Nackt im Wind with. Solo he released the single Back in the Night in 1986 with BMG Ariola. In 1990, he again published as Friedel G. the vultures swoop Song GNP . In 2009, the song was reusable bottle of Friedel Geratsch on a benefit CD released.

From 1996 to 2010 Geier Sturzflug existed as a duo with Friedel Geratsch and Carlo von Steinfurt. Friedel Geratsch is always involved in social projects. All income from the song Käpt'n Blue Eye (2011) went to the animal sanctuary in Hanau. He also wrote songs for Die Strandjungs , Die Moonbeats , Juliane Werding , Markus , Mike Krüger and other artists. He also wrote and sang several songs for the TV series Moskito .

Friedel Geratsch has been following a new musical path since 2013. He builds guitars from empty cigar boxes and other containers. In 2016 he presented his new band project "GARAGE 3". With the drummer Stephan Schott and the bassist Tom Baer he does Ruhrpott - Rock with German lyrics .

In 2016 Friedel Geratsch performed at the 1st German Cigar Box Guitar Festival in Pleutersbach .
