Pleutersbach is an incorporated district of Eberbach am Neckar in Baden-Württemberg , which was an independent municipality from 1830 to 1975.

geography

Pleutersbach is located on the northern edge of the Kleiner Odenwald , the district covers 225 hectares along the left bank of the Neckar and the valley of the Pleutersbach, which flows into the village . The majority of the district consists of steep, mostly wooded red sandstone slopes.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1369 as Blickerspach and could therefore go back to the Landschad von Steinach . Originally there was only a single courtyard, which was divided into three parts in 1369, but reunited in the 17th century. The courtyard was built east of the stream of the same name and the settlement later spread to the west. In 1818 8 farm farmers are mentioned, the place had 151 inhabitants. The manorial conditions were often divided up to 1803. The upper ownership was subject to the Margraves of Baden . Basic interest was to be paid to the Minneburg and Schwarzach wineries , and there was compulsory labor for the Count Palatine in Mosbach . Part of the land was also privately owned by the farmers. The agricultural areas were enlarged in the course of time by clearing of less steep slopes, important products were grain , oats, husks and tobacco.

In 1830 Pleutersbach became an independent municipality. From 1803 a school existed as a branch school from Eberbach. A new schoolhouse was built in 1894/95, and a cemetery in 1899. In 1919 it was connected to the electricity network.

The connection to the water supply took place as early as 1893, but this was unsatisfactory until 1957 and hindered the development of building areas. The place therefore remained without industrial settlements. The rather remote location on the banks of the Neckar along the Burgenstrasse on the other side of the river made Pleutersbach a place of residence for workers after the Second World War, but also a destination for camping tourism in the 1960s. On December 31, 1973 the place was incorporated into Eberbach.

Culture

As part of the Pleutersbacher Kerwe , which has been known for years , the 1st German Cigar Box Guitar Festival was organized from September 17, 2016 to September 19, 2016 . In addition to many German musicians, such as Friedel Geratsch , the founder of the Geier Sturzflug band , there were also musicians from Belgium, the Netherlands and Great Britain who presented their musical skills in various musical styles.

coat of arms

The coat of arms of Pleutersbach shows two silver fish facing in blue, the upper one swimming to the left .

Attractions

The old town hall of Pleutersbach, now used as a residential building, can still be recognized due to its bell tower and siren. The building was converted from a shepherd's house mentioned in 1806. The Pleutersbacher Church of Encounter is a small, modern church building that was only built in the last few decades.

traffic

The road connections to Eberbach and Allemühl were newly laid out in 1909/10 and 1934 respectively. From 1950 the place was served by a route of the Kraftpost , there was also a ferry connection to the Pleutersbach station of the Neckar Valley Railway on the other bank of the Neckar .
