The peace bell of the Alpine region , also known as the Mösern Peace Bell , is a memorial and commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Alpine Countries Working Group . The bell has stood in the Telfer district of Mösern at about 1250  m above sea level since the day of its inauguration, October 12, 1997 . A.

The area around Mösern, also known as Tyrol's swallow's nest, and Seefeld is economically shaped by tourism, and so the peace bell as a sight attracts many visitors. For this reason, a hiking trail was set up in 2003, which can be mastered in about 90 minutes and which ends at the bell. The peace bell rings daily at 5 p.m.

Bell and plant

The system was designed by Hubert Prachensky  . On August 28, 1997, the bell was cast in the Grassmayr bell foundry . The weight of the bell is 10,180 kg, it is 2.51 m high and has a diameter of 2.54 m. The clapper weighs about 500 kg. Your strike tone is 0 . It is driven by two electric motors.

On October 12, 1997 it was rung for the first time by the then South Tyrolean governor and founding father of the Arge Alp Silvius Magnago .

In 2016 a small tension crack was discovered above the clapper attachment point. This has already been assessed by the Grassmayr bell foundry. It is not yet known whether a new casting will take place.

The bell bears the following inscription:

I ROLL THE BELL FOR GOOD NEIGHBORHOODS AND THE PEACE OF THE ALPINE COUNTRIES
ALFONS GOPPEL , SILVIUS MAGNAGO AND EDUARD WALLNÖFER

It also shows the coats of arms of the member countries of the Arge Alp , Bavaria , Graubünden , Lombardy , Salzburg , St. Gallen , South Tyrol , Ticino , Tyrol , Trentino and Vorarlberg , as well as the coat of arms of Baden-Württemberg
