Lower Koskau Church of Peace
The Friedenskirche Unterkoskau is located in the district of Unterkoskau of the city of Tanna in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .
history
After the previous building fell victim to the flames in 1606, the church was soon rebuilt and expanded from 1821 to 1822. The church tower is said to date from around 1606 or earlier.
The church is a light, simple building. The altar area has been wide since the renovation in 1973 and is dominated by a baroque crucifixion group. The altar is free.
The three bells on the tower were cast in Apolda in 1923 . The middle one bears the inscription "Peace on Earth". In 1975 the church was named Friedenskirche.
The last repair took place in 1992.
