Friederike Thieme (born April 16, 1987 ) is a former German volleyball player .

Career

Thieme began her career at the Saxon club HSG Turbine Zittau . She later joined the VC Olympia Dresden junior team. In 2004 she moved to Dresdner SC . In 2007, the outside attacker reached the German cup final and won the German champions . A year later she became runner-up with Dresden and took third place in the Challenge Cup . After participating in the cup finals again in 2009, Thieme won the DVV Cup with her club in the 2009/10 season . In addition, the DSC managed to win their first international title in front of their own audience with the final victory in the Challenge Cup . In 2011 national coach Giovanni Guidetti Thieme called for the tournament in Montreux for the first time in the squad of the senior national team , where she made her first international appearance in the 3-0 win against Peru . After three more runner-up championships with Dresden from 2011 to 2013, Thieme ended her volleyball career due to injury.
