Friedhelm Osselmann

Friedhelm Osselmann (born April 9, 1934 in Duisburg ) is a former German water polo player .

Life

Friedhelm Osselmann was part of the German Olympic team at the Olympic Games in 1956 and 1960 and finished sixth in both tournaments. At the 1958 European water polo championship in Budapest, two German teams competed, the team from the GDR reached fifth place, and the German team with Friedhelm Osselmann came seventh.

Osselmann played for ASC Duisburg , with whom he won the German championship title in 1957, 1963 and 1965.

Friedhelm Osselmann married Birgit Klomp, a swimmer and Olympian from 1956 . The sons Rainer and Karl, like their father, played water polo at ASC Duisburg, Rainer took part in the Olympic Games in 1984 and 1988.

In some sources he is also referred to as Friedrich Osselmann.
