The Erzhausen Friedhof is a cemetery in Erzhausen , Hesse . The cemetery is a historical monument under monument protection.

History and description

Originally the cemetery was on the area of ​​the Protestant church . In the 1850s, the cemetery was moved to the southern edge of Erzhausen and inaugurated in 1854. An approximately 1.80 meter high wall made of the so-called "Rauen Stein", from a Langen quarry , surrounds the old part of the cemetery. The cemetery was expanded several times to the south. The southern part is enclosed with a fence .

On the western edge of the cemetery is a war cemetery that commemorates the victims of the Second World War .

In the 1970s, a new sanctuary was built on the western edge of the cemetery area. The hall, built in the modern style, has a gable roof . The facade is made of brown bricks .
