Cemetery chapel of the Holy Cross (Schlehdorf)
The Roman Catholic Cemetery Chapel Hl. Kreuz in Schlehdorf in Upper Bavarian district of Bad Toelz-Wolfratshausen heard as part of the parish of St. Tertulin Schlehdorf in Pfarrverband Home Garden Schlehdorf-Ohlstadt-Großweil the deanery Werdenfels the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising . The church at Kocheler Straße 15 , including its furnishings , is a listed building .
history
The chapel was built in 1693. From 1784 the cemetery was moved from the old monastery to the Chapel of the Holy Cross, which has served as a cemetery chapel ever since .
Description and equipment
The baroque central building with four cones has an onion dome in the east .
The chapel contains a Romanesque four-nail crucifix about two meters high , which comes from the Schlehdorf monastery . It is framed by baroque stucco and putti . The crucifix shows strong similarities to the Schaftlacher Cross , which was made around 1000. The dates of the Schlehdorfer Cross vary between 970 and 1200. A baroque figure of Mater Dolorosa sits at the feet of Christ crucified .
The ceiling fresco by Franz Kirzinger shows the finding of the cross .
