Friedl Iby

Frieda "Friedl" Iby (* 6. April 1905 ; † 18th April 1960 , after marriage Friedl Kopp ) was a German gymnast and Olympic champion.

Friedl Iby started gymnastics at the men's gymnastics club in Nuremberg when he was six . In 1926 she won the gymnastics competition at the German Fighting Games. At the Olympic Games in 1936 an Olympic team competition for gymnasts took place for the second time after 1928. Friedl Iby was the oldest gymnast in the German ranks. With Gertrud Meyer , Erna Bürger , Käte Sohnemann , Isolde Frölian , Anita Bärwirth , Paula Pöhlsen as well as Friedl Iby and Julie Schmitt , the German team won the gold medal with a three point lead over the team from Czechoslovakia.

After their marriage, Friedl Kopp moved from Nuremberg to Munich.
