Friedrich-Wilhelm Gocken

Friedrich-Wilhelm (Wilfried) Göcke (born March 22, 1945 in Fröndenberg / Ruhr ) was a football player in the top league of the GDR football league . There he completed most of the games for FC Karl-Marx-Stadt .

Athletic career

Gocks received his football training at SC Aufbau Magdeburg and played there until 1965. In his last season in Magdeburg, he played three games in the major league in 1964. In the summer of 1965 Gätze moved to the upper division Wismut Aue . There he immediately belonged as a midfielder to the regular squad of the league team. His solid performance was also noticed by the GDR selection officers, and so he was used for the first time on October 31, 1965 in an international match of the GDR youth team. Until 1968 he played nine times in the youth team and was one of the regular squad here as well.

Through his selection appointments, Göcke became interesting for the region’s football club, FC Karl-Marx-Stadt . At the beginning of the 1968/69 season, Gocks moved to the district capital after 74 league appearances for Aue and now played for FCK in the league. Here he immediately experienced a footballing high point when his team reached the final of the GDR soccer cup . On June 1, 1969 , he and his team played as a right midfielder against 1. FC Magdeburg , but the Karl-Marx-Städter lost 4-0 without a chance. The following season also ended in disappointment, with FC Karl-Marx-Stadt relegated to the GDR league in the summer of 1970 . So Göck had to play in the second division for the first time in his career, but returned immediately after a year to the league. Without any further highs or lows, Göcke continued to play for FC Karl-Marx-Stadt until the end of the 1977/78 season and then ended his career as a football player at the age of 33. For FCK he had played 175 games in the major league and thus increased his account in the top division to 252 stakes.

From 1978 to 1983, Göcke was a qualified sports teacher and coach of the juniors at FC Karl-Marx-Stadt. Then he trained the GDR league club Motor Fritz Heckert Karl-Marx-Stadt (1983 to 1987), activist Schwarze Pump (1987/88) and activist Borna (from 1988).
