Friedrich Albers
Friedrich (Fritz) Wilhelm Albers (born November 2, 1881 in Osternburg ; † May 6, 1936 in Oldenburg ) was a liberal German politician ( FVP , DDP, DStP ). From 1918 to 1931 he was a member of the Oldenburg State Parliament .
Life
The son of the Reichsbahnwart Wilhelm Heinrich Albers and Johanne Katharina Margarethe, née Köhne, also embarked on a professional career at the Reichsbahn after attending school , initially as an auditor and later as Reichsbahn Oberinspektor in Nadorst . In addition to his professional activity, he was chairman of the civil servants' union in the Free State of Oldenburg and editor of the association's journal Der Beamtenbund .
From March 1918 Albers was a member of the Oldenburg State Parliament for the Progressive People's Party (FVP). In 1919 he was elected for the German Democratic Party (DDP) in the constituent Oldenburg state assembly, where he was secretary and member of the finance committee. From 1920 to 1931 he was a member of the Oldenburg Landtag without interruption. In parliament he was alternately a member of the remuneration committee, the administration committee, the petitions committee and the finance committee. After 1925 he was temporarily deputy chairman of the administrative committee.
Albers supported the Weimar coalition and in 1928 wrote an essay on the liberal-democratic tradition of the state of Oldenburg. As a representative of the civil servants, he spoke out against the National Socialist Oldenburg state government and was the organizer of a protest rally in 1932 that was directed against its civil servant policy.
Friedrich Albers married Alma Henriette Sophie Schröder (1883–1963) in 1909. During the Nazi era , his wife was sentenced to one year and nine months in prison for " broadcasting crimes" in 1941 .
