Friedrich Albrecht (pedagogue)

Friedrich Albrecht (* 1959 in Steinfurth / Hessen ) is a German special and curative education and rector of the Zittau / Görlitz University of Applied Sciences .

Education and career

After obtaining his higher education entrance qualification, Friedrich Albrecht studied from 1980 to study “teaching at special schools” as well as a postgraduate degree in pedagogy at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . He passed the first state examination for teaching at special schools in 1986. In 1987 he received the diploma in education with which he graduated. From 1987 to 1988 he worked as a kindergarten director. From 1988 to 1990 he was a teacher at the Free School in Frankfurt . Albrecht worked as a research assistant at the University of Frankfurt am Main from 1990 to 1995. In 1995 he graduated as Dr. phil. He was appointed professor for curative / disabled education at the Zittau / Görlitz University of Applied Sciences in 1996. In the 2005/2006 winter semester he was visiting professor at the University of Vienna . From 2006 to 2010 Albrecht was Vice-Rector of the Zittau / Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. In March 2010 he was appointed rector there.

Friedrich Albrecht had several research and work stays in Ecuador . From 1990 to 2004 he was an editorial member of the journal Disability and Third World and a long-term member of the Federal Association for Disability and Third World .
