Friedrich August Mehlen

Friedrich August Mehlen (born June 17, 1750 in Toitz ; † June 14, 1802 ; also Friedrich August Mehl ) was a German legal scholar.

Life

The son of Loitz mayor Johann Gottfried Mehlen was born on his grandfather's estate. After visiting the Pedagogium in Bützow he studied from 1767 at the University of Greifswald , in 1772 at the University of Jena and from 1775 at the University of Goettingen law . In 1780 he was in Göttingen a doctorate in law doctorate . He then worked as a lawyer before becoming an adjunct at the law faculty of the University of Greifswald in 1789 . In 1795 he became associate professor and in 1797 full professor of law in Greifswald. The Allgemeine Deutsche Biographie cited excessive exertion as the cause of his death at the age of 52 .
