Friedrich August Scheele

Friedrich August Scheele (born July 26, 1776 in Dingelstedt am Huy , † December 18, 1852 in Thale ) was superintendent and pastor at St. Stephani in Calbe an der Saale from 1819 until shortly before his death .

He is the father of the popular writer Marie Nathusius (1817–1857), who spent her childhood and youth in Calbe, and of the teacher and theologian Karl Scheele .

After studying theology at the University of Halle , he became rector of the Johannis Kirch School in Halberstadt in 1802 and preacher at the St. Petri Church in Magdeburg in 1807 . In 1809 he became pastor at the Heilig-Geist-Kirche Magdeburg . From 1814 to 1821 Scheele belonged to the Freemason lodge Ferdinand for happiness .
