Friedrich Ernst Gebhard

Friedrich Ernst Gebhard (born December 9, 1823 in Eschwege ; † December 21, 1889 there ) was a German politician.

Gebhard was the son of the leather goods manufacturer Christoph Gebhard and his wife Christiane nee Mensing. He married Katharina Luise Bierschenk on April 9, 1855.

Gebhard attended high school in Hersfeld and, after graduating from high school, studied law in Marburg and Leipzig. He became a public prosecutor and was mayor of his hometown from January 2, 1855. From 1858 he represented Eschwege in the second chamber of the Kurhessische estates assembly . After the annexation of Electorate Hesse by Prussia, he was a member of the Kassel Municipal Parliament from 1886 to 1889 .

On January 24, 1880, Gebhard was made an honorary citizen of Eschwege.
