Friedrich Eugen Weber-Liel
Friedrich Eugen Weber-Liel (born October 19, 1832 - † November 30, 1891 in Bonn ) was a German doctor and ENT doctor.
Weber-Liel became known for the tenotomy of the tensor tympani muscle, which he carried out for the first time as a method to cure certain forms of hearing loss .
Life
After his license to practice medicine in 1858, Weber-Liel completed his habilitation in Berlin in 1872 and became a full professor at the University of Jena in 1884 . Together with Rudolf Voltolini , Gruber and Nikolaus Rüdinger , Weber-Liel founded the "monthly for otology" in 1867. In January 1872 he published his article "On the purposes, effects and execution of the tenotomy of the tensor tympani muscle".
