Friedrich Florenz Johann Theodor R (h) aban Freiherr von der Wenge (* December 25/27, 1702 ; † January 20, 1775 ) was a high-ranking officer in imperial , Electoral Cologne , Paderborn and Münster services.

Life

He comes from the Westphalian noble family von der Wenge , whose name is derived from the Wenge house in Dortmund-Lanstrop. From the wenge u. a. Electoral Cologne major general, bailiff of Ahrweiler , imperial field sergeant and field marshal lieutenant. From 1734 to 1754 Wenge was regiment owner of the Paderborn regiment Schorlemer on foot . In 1739 he also became owner of the Münster regiment Lehrbach zu Fuß .

Beck Castle , built 1766–1771

During his last function as lieutenant general and fortress commander of Münster , von der Wenge had the late Baroque Beck moated castle built between 1766 and 1771 in the Feldhausen peasantry in what is now the urban area of Bottrop-Kirchhellen , the gable of which shows the Wenge coat of arms with the black gate tower.

He married the daughter of Damian von Grünstein , Maria Anna Wilderica (* 1719). He was the father of Clemens August von der Wenge . His cousin Franz von der Wenge founded the St. Antony Hut in Oberhausen, from which the Gutehoffnungshütte later emerged.
