Friedrich Franceschini
Friedrich Franceschini (born July 30, 1845 in Vienna ; † April 2, 1906 there ) was an Austrian officer and portrait painter .
Life
Franceschini studied three and a half years at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Subsequently he was trained as an officer at the regimental cadet school. On December 6th, 1860 he was retired as a cadet for the kuk - Infantry Regiment No. 54 . He made his career as a troop officer in the Austro-Hungarian Army and was promoted to colonel in Infantry Regiment No. 72 on November 1, 1896 . Later he became commander of the 27th Infantry Brigade, on November 1, 1902 Major General conveyed, after he joined on 1 May 1904 in the retirement .
As an artist, Franceschini did not make a particularly lasting impression. Only a few works by his hand have survived, including a portrait of Emperor Franz Joseph I , which he painted at the age of 30 and which is now in the permanent exhibition of the Vienna Museum of Military History .
