Friedrich Frutschi
Friedrich Frutschi (born February 7, 1892 in Ringgenberg ; † January 14, 1981 ibid) was a Swiss sculptor , residing in Ringgenberg.
Life
Friedrich Frutschi was head of the cantonal wood carving school in Brienz from 1928 to 1958 . He represented a classicistic , stylized naturalism and created a. a. lots of sculptures for the local village fountain. His works can also be found in the cemetery. Many of his works are still owned by his son Urs Frutschi.
Frutschi's studio fell victim to a fire in 1980. He died nine months later at the age of 89.
