Friedrich Gotthilf Fritsche

Friedrich Gotthilf Fritsche (born February 16, 1799 in Bautzen , † January 4, 1851 in Altenburg ) was a German Protestant clergyman.

Life

Friedrich Gotthilf Fritsche attended grammar school in Bautzen and then studied theology at the University of Leipzig . During his studies he was significantly influenced by a relative, Friedrich August Wolf (1781–1841), who was employed as head catechist in the Petrikirche in Leipzig. From 1821 to 1824 Fritsche worked as a catechist and was then vice principal at the Bautzen grammar school. In 1830 he got a job as the sixth professor and teacher of religion at the Saxon State School in Grimma.

In 1842, despite the lack of ordination , he was appointed senior pastor , general superintendent and consistorial councilor to Altenburg.

In 1848 he became a member of the Altenburg state parliament .

Friedrich Gotthilf Fritsche was made a knight of the Ernestine House Order .
