Friedrich Gustav Bienemann (historian, 1860)

Friedrich Gustav Bienemann (born June 19, 1860 in Arcis ( Bessarabia ), † August 4, 1915 in Riga ) was a Baltic German historian.

Life

Bienemann attended the Gouvernements-Gymnasium in Mitau , then from 1877–1879 the Landesgymnasium Fellin . From 1879 he studied first philology, then theology and finally history in Dorpat , where he became a member of Livonia . After graduating in 1885, he continued his studies in Strasbourg , where he received his doctorate in 1886. phil. received his doctorate. After his exams as a senior teacher in Dorpat, he taught at the state grammar school in Birkenruh from 1887 to 1892 , after which he headed a boys' boarding school in Riga until 1899, and from 1894 to 1903 he was also the librarian of the Society for History and Archeology of the Baltic Provinces of Russia . In 1903 he became publisher and editor of the Baltic Monthly , and in 1905 he also worked for the Düna newspaper . Since 1897 he was a corresponding member of the Estonian Literary Society .
