Nandurbar is a city in the state of Maharashtra in western India . It is the administrative seat of the Nandurbar district of the same name . Nandurbar is divided into 33 wards (constituencies) and is administered as the Municipal Council. It is 398 kilometers from Nandurbar to Mumbai .

Demographics

The city's population is 111,037 according to the 2011 census. Nandurbar has a gender ratio of 934 women per 1000 men and thus a male surplus that is usual for India. The literacy rate was 88.1% in 2011. Almost 74.3% of the population are Hindus , approx. 21.4% are Muslims , approx. 2.1% are Jainas , approx. 0.9% are Christians , approx 0.8% are Buddhists and about 0.4% belong to other or no religions. 11.8% of the population are children under six years of age.

Infrastructure

Nandurbar is approached from a station on the Indian railway network. There are also state transport buses. Nandurbar is connected to Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat by state highways.
