Friedrich Hartman (* 1563 ; † 1631 or later) was a German book printer in Frankfurt (Oder) .

Life

Friedrich Hartman had worked as a master bookbinder in his father Johann Hartman's office in Frankfurt since 1588 . The prints have since appeared with the names of both of them. In 1607 he took over the workshops after his father's death. After the city ​​was destroyed in the Thirty Years War of 1631, there is no more information about him and the shop.

Friedrich Hartman printed religious literature, school books, official decrees, historical literature, Hebrew prints and other writings.

The son Johann Christoph Hartmann became a lawyer and state lawyer of the Uckermark, the grandson Johann Christoph Hartmann again a printer and partner at Jeremias Schrey in Frankfurt.
