Friedrich Heinrich Wiggers

Friedrich Heinrich Wiggers , also Fridrich Hindrich or Fridericus Henricus , the last name also in the spelling Wicher (born March 15, 1746 in Krempe, Holstein , † March 3, 1811 in Husum ) was a German botanist and doctor. Its botanical author abbreviation is “ FHWigg. "; earlier the abbreviation “ Wiggers ” was also in use.

Live and act

His dissertation from 1780 is entitled Primitiae florae holsaticae . In 1787, Georg Heinrich Weber (1752–1828) published a supplement to this under the title Supplementum florae holsaticae .

Honors

After him the plant genus Wiggersia is G.Gaertn., B.Mey. & Scherb. named from the legume family (Fabaceae).
