Friedrich Hermann Wolfhagen (born August 3, 1818 in Copenhagen , † April 25, 1894 in Wiesbaden ) was a Danish civil servant and four-time Minister for Schleswig.

Life

Wolfhagen was born into an old Hessian family as the son of the pension chamber member and state councilor Johan Wolfhagen (1779-1840) and his wife Friderikke Wilhelmine Henriette Wolfhagen, née Richardi (1794-1855). Friedrich Hermann Wolfhagen studied in Copenhagen, Berlin, Heidelberg and Kiel. In Heidelberg he became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Heidelberg in 1840 . In 1842 he passed the legal exam in Kiel. He made a quick career and became chamberlain in 1854. In the Bang , Andræ , Hall I and Hall II cabinets , he was Minister for Schleswig from June 18, 1856 to December 2, 1859 and from February 24, 1860 to December 31, 1863. He was also a member of the Imperial Council from 1855 to 1864.

In 1869 he married Anna Kirstine Severine Winther (* 1843), daughter of the sculptor Søren Seidelin Winther .

Awards

In 1851 Wolfhagen was made a knight of the Dannebrog Order , in 1857 a commander , and in 1868 a Dannebrog man ; In 1873 he received the Grand Cross .
