Friedrich Hofmann (politician)

Friedrich Hofmann (born February 24, 1935 in Sulzbach-Rosenberg ; † September 18, 2013 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending primary school , Hofmann completed an apprenticeship as a technical draftsman . From 1949 to 1968 he worked for various industrial companies as a technical draftsman, detail designer and technical employee. He was then released as a member of the works council. From 1974 he worked for IG Metall , most recently as managing director , in Duisburg .

Hofmann had been a member of the SPD since 1966. He was active in numerous sub-organizations of the SPD, including from 1971 to 1975 as chairman of the working group for workers' issues in Duisburg and member of the Lower Rhine district executive.

MP

From May 30, 1985 to June 1, 2000 Hofmann was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in constituency 070 Duisburg V and constituency 069 Duisburg IV.

From 1975 to 1985 he was a member of the City Council of Duisburg.
