Friedrich Holtzmann

Friedrich Holtzmann (born April 26, 1876 in Strasbourg , † February 21, 1948 in Karlsruhe ) was a German doctor and hygienist.

Life

Friedrich Holtzmann was born in 1876 as the son of the theologian Heinrich Holtzmann , his mother was the daughter of the historian Georg Weber . The women's rights activist Adelheid Steinmann and the historian Robert Holtzmann were his older siblings. Friedrich completed high school and medical studies in Strasbourg, where he was awarded a Dr. med. received his doctorate. During his studies he became a member of the student choir Arion Strasbourg in the association of special houses .

In 1906 Holtzmann entered the civil service, where he was assigned as a doctor to the " factory inspection ", which later became the Karlsruhe Trade Inspectorate . He was scientifically active in the areas of commercial , social and occupational hygiene. In 1912 he completed his habilitation. As a result, Holtzmann was appointed associate professor in 1919 and extraordinary professor at the Technical University of Karlsruhe in 1939. His specialist area was filled in the same way up until the 1990s. He retained his position in the trade inspectorate.
