Friedrich Hoppe (chronicler)

Friedrich Hoppe (born July 15, 1879 in Naumburg (Saale) ; † December 8, 1959 there ) was a German teacher, chronicler, museum director and city director in Naumburg (Saale).

Life

Friedrich Hoppe was born in Naumburg (Saale) in 1879. He trained as a teacher at the teachers' college in Weissenfels and was a teacher and senior teacher in Naumburg from 1900. As early as 1909 he published works on the history of Naumburg and places in the immediate vicinity and earned great merit for this. Hoppe was entrusted with the administration of the city museum in 1939 and held the office until February 1, 1954. Friedrich Hoppe died on December 8, 1959 at the age of 80 in Naumburg (Saale).
