Friedrich Jacob Ficus

Friedrich Jacob Ficus (born January 21, 1812 in Frankfurt am Main ; † March 11, 1890 there ) was a German teacher and politician .

Life

Born as the son of a businessman , Ficus studied theology and philosophy in Heidelberg and Bonn after attending the Frankfurt grammar school . During his studies in 1832 he became a member of the Marcomannia Bonn fraternity and in 1833 was a co-founder of the Teutonia Marburg fraternity . Because of its Burschenschaft union activities, he was at the University of Bonn expelled and deported. He became a teacher in Frankfurt and was the founder and head of a private educational institution for girls. He was an orphan councilor and head of the 5th district of Frankfurt. From 1858 to 1864 he was a member of the Legislative Assembly of the City of Frankfurt.
