Friedrich Krüger (physicist)

Friedrich Krüger (born May 29, 1877 in Blomberg ; † April 21, 1940 in Dresden ) was a German physicist and university professor .

Friedrich Krüger was a student of Walther Nernst . From 1920 to 1940 he was Professor of Physics and Director of the Physics Institute in Greifswald . In 1923 he had an observatory built on the roof of the institute . During his rectorate , the Rubenow memorial , mutilated by a storm, was restored, a new university campus was opened up and a. the University Dermatology Clinic was built.

For several years Krüger was the editor of the Physikalische Zeitschrift .

A street in Greifswald laid out in 1926 was later named after Friedrich Krüger.
