Friedrich Martini (legal scholar)

Friedrich Martini (* before 1555 in Hainstadt ; † 1630 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German legal scholar and university professor .

Life

Martini came to Ingolstadt University as a student in 1565 . It was in 1573 with vigorous resistance of the Jesuit secular professor of logic. In 1578/1579 he moved to the law faculty, where he became professor of Roman law . In 1582 he took over the chair for canon law . In 1589 he followed a call as professor of canon law at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau . In 1591 he represented the affairs of the Freiburg University with Emperor Rudolf II in Prague , in 1592 he refused an appointment at the Imperial Court of Justice.

Martini published papers in almost every year of his office.

Johann von Leuchselring was his son-in-law.
