Friedrich Moser (born December 7, 1969 in Gmunden ) is an Austrian filmmaker and journalist .

Life

After finishing school at the Stiftsgymnasium Kremsmünster , Friedrich Moser studied history and German in Salzburg and Bilbao . He began his professional career in 1998 as a TV journalist in Bolzano , South Tyrol. Since 1999 Moser has mostly worked as a writer, director, producer and cameraman and is the maker of over 20 documentaries, including the movie The Brussels Business about the lack of transparency and the influence of lobbyists on the decision-making process in the European Union . Moser's second international documentary, A Good American, is about codebreaker William "Bill" Binney , who developed the groundbreaking surveillance program ThinThread, but which was stopped by the National Security Agency (NSA) before implementation . In 2001 he founded his own film production company, blue + green communication. His television documentary Terrorjagd im Netz was nominated for the Grimme Prize in 2018.

In addition to his work as a filmmaker, Friedrich Moser teaches at the Department of Economic and Social History at the University of Vienna and at the Oberschule for Commercial Graphics in Bressanone.
