Friedrich Nebelthau (politician, 1863)
Friedrich Nebelthau (born October 16, 1863 in Bremen , † March 14, 1947 in Bremen) was a lawyer , syndicus and Bremen senator .
biography
Nebelthau was the son of a Bremen merchant. He attended the Alte Gymnasium in Bremen from 1875 to 1883 . He studied law at the University of Freiburg , the University of Paris , the University of Heidelberg and the University of Berlin. In 1886 he received his doctorate. jur. in Göttingen .
In 1890 he took on the job of a syndic at the Bremen Chamber of Commerce . As a representative of the 2nd class, he was elected to the Bremen citizenship from 1891 to 1900 . He stood up for affairs of art and literature. From 1900 to 1918 he was a Bremen Senator . In the Senate he was initially responsible for trade and transport issues. In 1911 he became a member of the Senate Commission for Foreign Affairs. After the First World War he joined the liberal German Democratic Party (DDP). On December 30, 1919, he became a senator again. From 1919 to 1933 he was Minister Representative of Bremen to the German Reich and Deputy Representative for Bremen to the Reichsrat ; therefore he resigned from the Senate. As envoy, he successfully negotiated cooperation with Prussia. With the beginning of the Nazi era , he lost his office on March 15, 1933. However, after their departure during the Nazi era, the former Senators Nebelthau, Theodor Spitta and Hermann Apelt met regularly to exchange ideas.
