Friedrich Probst

Friedrich Probst (born January 23, 1938 in Graz ; † August 2, 2009 in Hartberg ) was an Austrian politician ( FPÖ ) and pharmaceutical representative. Probst was a member of the National Council from 1979 to 1990 and from 1991 to 1994 .

education and profession

After elementary school, Probst attended a grammar school and graduated in 1958 with the Matura. He also studied at the University of Vienna and completed an industrial training in pharmacology. In 1965 he joined the company " Bertalanffy-EBEWE Arzneimittel GmbH " and subsequently worked as a pharmaceutical representative.

politics

Probst was municipal councilor in Graz from 1973 to 1978 and from 1978 to 1979, and during this time he was also deputy chairman of the FPÖ council group. He then represented the FPÖ from November 30, 1979 to November 4, 1990 and again from October 22, 1991 to June 30, 1994 in the National Council.

From 1973 he held the office of federal chairman of the association of scientific employees in the pharmaceutical industry and was president of the world umbrella organization of this association (UIADM). He was also a member of the theater committee of the United Theaters of Styria in the city of Graz and President of the Styrian School Sports Association. After leaving politics, Probst tried to re-enter in 2005. He ran for the FPÖ in the 2005 local council elections in Weinitzen , after the previous mayor of the FPÖ had dissolved the local FPÖ and established a list of names. While the former FPÖ mayor was able to maintain his office in the election, Probst failed to move into the municipal council.
