Friedrich Reisinger

Friedrich Reisinger (born July 16, 1962 in Mürzzuschlag ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) as well as a farmer and forester. From 2010 to 2015 he was a member of the Austrian Federal Council . From October 2018 to December 2019 he was a member of the State Parliament of Styria .

education and profession

Reisinger attended elementary school in Neuberg an der Mürz from 1968 to 1973 and then switched to secondary school in Neuberg an der Mürz from 1973 to 1977. He then graduated from the agricultural and forestry college in Hafendorf between 1977 and 1980 and worked in his parents' farm from 1980 to 1991. He also passed the examination to become an agricultural master craftsman in 1983 and took over his parents' farm in 1991. Since then he has been working as a freelance farmer and forester.

Politics and functions

Reisinger began his political career with the Austrian Farmers' Union , where he was the local group chairman in Neuberg an der Mürz between 1990 and 2004. From 2000 to 2010 he was also district chairman of the Austrian Farmers 'Union in Mürzzuschlag and has been a member of the regional board of the Styrian Farmers' Union since 2000. He was also District Chairman of the District Chamber for Agriculture and Forestry Mürzzuschlag from 1996 to 1999 and served as District Chairman of the District Chamber for Agriculture and Forestry Mürzzuschlag between 1999 and 2010. In addition, from 2005 to 2010 Reisinger was a member of the Chamber Council of the State Chamber for Agriculture and Forestry in Styria Graz. From 2005 to 2011, Reisinger was involved in local politics as a member of the municipal council of the market town of Neuberg an der Mürz; within the party, he was the district party leader of the ÖVP Mürzzuschlag from 2010 to 2013.

Reisinger was sworn in as a member of the Austrian Federal Council on October 21, 2010, where he acted as secretary of the Federal Council's committee of rules of procedure. He was also a member of the Committee on Citizenship and Petitions, a member of the Health Committee and a member of the Incompatibility Committee. After the state elections in Styria in 2015 and the resulting new appointment of the Federal Council members by the Styrian state parliament, Friedrich Reisinger left the Federal Council on June 15, 2015.

In October 2018, he succeeded Hermann Hartleb as a member of the Styrian state parliament . After the state elections in 2019 , he left the state parliament.

Private

Reisinger is married and has three children.
